HYSEA Project Drona Celebrates Milestone with First Cohort Completion

9th Oct 2024: HYSEA proudly announces the successful completion of the first cohort of its pioneering faculty development and enrichment program, Project Drona. This flagship initiative, designed by industry thought leaders, aims to equip faculty with cutting-edge skills in emerging technologies.

Project Drona offers a contemporary learning environment that emphasizes self and peer learning, task-centric activities, and mentorship from industry practitioners. The program culminates in an industry-immersive experience, focusing on project management processes and professional skill development.

A total of 71 learners have completed their training in AI & ML, Full Stack Development, and Digital Transformation. Faculty from 23 academic institutions across Telangana participated in the program. According to a survey, 50% of the participants reported that the program helped them secure new jobs, increments, or promotions.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Dr. Uday Desai, Emeritus Professor, IIT Hyderabad, Advisor of HYSEA Talent Transformation Forum; Prashanth Nandella, President of HYSEA,  Shrikant Sinha, CEO of Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge; Sairam Vedam, CMO, Cigniti Technologies (A Coforge company), Vinay Agarwal, Global Head-Business HR, Tech Mahindra Limited, HYSEA Executive Committee Member, Future Readiness Council Leader, HYSEA, Amarnath Reddy, CRO, ITE&C, Government of Telangana and Venkatesh Sangam, Region Head, Infosys. 

Prashanth Nandella, President of HYSEA, addressed the audience, stating, “HYSEA’s Talent Transformation initiatives aim to enable the future talent supply chain by enriching skills that will be most in demand by the industry. Through our initiatives, we impact students via Nipuna, faculty through Project Drona, upskill and reskill talent via Project Kriya, and support entrepreneurship and startup enablement via Project Vridhi. We are committed to skilling 10,000 students and 1,000 faculty by 2026, contributing to a globally employable workforce.”

Sairam Vedam, CMO, Cigniti Technologies (A Coforge company), Chief of Program, Project Drona, Managing Committee Member, HYSEA added, “Project Drona is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. The program focuses on AI-enabled, industry-centric courses driven by real-world use cases. We are excited to announce our next cohort, which will focus on Gen AI and Blockchain technology, continuing our commitment to industry-immersive experiences. He mentioned that in a survey conducted with the learners; 50% of the faculty indicated that their learnings from Project Drona resulted in either fetching a new job, promotion or an increment.”
