Fortune Fund – Transforming Education for Underprivileged Students

The Fortune Fund of S2Tech is proud to share the achievements of this quarter, reflecting its commitment to empowering rural and tribal students through academic support and technology-driven solutions.

This year, all Tenth class students sponsored by the Fortune Fund—from Montfort English Medium School, Mattampally (5) and ZPHS, Gudur (5)—achieved above 85% marks, thanks to their dedication and the academic support provided. Notably, Ms. Manasa from Mattampally secured a Mandal-level rank, bringing pride to her school and the program.

At Sri Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Bhadrachalam, the Fortune Fund has supported to install an RO Water Plant for safe drinking water and a Solar power system to reduce electricity costs.

To bridge educational gaps in this remote tribal area i.e., at Sri Sawaraswati Shishu Mandir, Bhadrachalam, S2Tech introduced Khan Academy for Classes 6–8 in science and mathematics, aligning with the NCERT syllabus. This initiative, led by Sonika Kalwa (a U.S. high school graduate), is supported by Headmistress Geeta Madam and Lab Coordinator Sindhu.

Challenges such as a lack of experienced teachers, limited finances, and only 20 shared computers for 120 students are being addressed through Khan Academy’s mastery-based, self-paced learning, interactive video lessons, and personalized content. The platform’s proven results, backed by major supporters like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, make it an ideal solution for rural education.

With dedicated school leadership and technology-enabled instruction, this model has shown measurable impact in student learning and teacher capacity-building. Going forward, the school aims to expand computer access and extend Khan Academy to higher grades.

Through the Fortune Fund, S2Tech is delivering world-class education to marginalized communities—creating a scalable, sustainable model for other tribal schools across India.
