February 11, 2025 | Hyderabad: HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association) successfully hosted the 32nd edition of its prestigious National Summit & Awards 2025, bringing together industry leaders, technology pioneers, and policymakers for a day of insightful discussions, groundbreaking innovations, and celebrations of excellence.

This year’s summit, centered around the theme “AI & Beyond: Redefining the Future,” explored the rapidly evolving technological landscape and its profound impact on businesses and society. The conference featured cutting-edge discussions on AI, Agentic AI, and Quantum Computing, focusing on their transformative applications across key sectors, including Life Sciences, Sustainable Systems & Green Software, e-Governance & Citizen Services, and Talent Development.

The HYSEA National Summit & Awards continues to be one of the most prestigious industry events in Hyderabad, serving as a platform that showcases the city’s thriving innovation culture, booming startup ecosystem, and dynamic business landscape. This year’s edition witnessed an impressive turnout of over 1,000 delegates, including 100+ top IT industry leaders, reaffirming Hyderabad’s status as a global technology hub.

In his opening address, Mr. Prashanth Nandella, President of HYSEA, emphasized:

“This annual gathering is more than just a celebration of Hyderabad’s thriving IT industry—it is a reflection of our collective journey in shaping the future of technology. AI is redefining business models, unlocking new opportunities, and pushing the boundaries of human potential. Hyderabad stands at the forefront of this revolution.”

Daaji (Kamlesh D. Patel), Founder of the Heartfulness Institute was a key speaker at the Summit and talked about how individuals can cultivate inner resilience, balance, and mindfulness amidst the dynamic shifts driven by technology advancements.  In his thought-provoking address, Rev. Daaji underscored the significance of integrating spiritual wisdom with technological advancement. He stated, “While AI gathers and processes external information, true wisdom lies in harnessing the intelligence within. Spirituality is not separate from progress; rather, it is the key to unlocking deeper insights that shape a more balanced and meaningful existence.”

Engaging in a fireside chat with Ms. Pragya Misra – Public Policy and Partnerships Lead, OpenAI, Rev. Daaji emphasized the need to invest in the ‘right portfolio’—inner peace and self-awareness—to navigate the rapid advancements in AI without losing sight of human consciousness. He remarked, “Meditation is not about withdrawal; it is about heightened awareness. By cultivating inner stillness, we can enhance productivity and creativity while remaining deeply connected to our true purpose.”

Phil Fersht, Chief Analyst, HFS Research, delivered the opening keynote and talked about the impact of AI across various sectors, including how AI is driving significant transformations in enterprise landscape particularly in BFSI, life sciences, telecom, and e-governance.

The panel on “Agentic AI Shaping Improved Business Outcomes” uncovered how technology is set to enhance business outcomes by automating complex processes and enabling more effective decision-making through advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities.

Compute & Qubits to Insights: Role in Al Evolution panel talked about The evolution of computing technologies, including quantum computing, and how crucial it is for the advancement of AI. The panel will share insights on how these technologies provide the necessary power to process vast amounts of data, thereby enabling more sophisticated AI applications.

Talent Frontier: Thriving in an Al-First World panel explored how AI revolutionizes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee development, driving engagement, productivity, and innovation and strategies to build smarter teams and thrive in the evolving workplace.

Operations to Innovation: Value Revolution @ GCC panel talked about the evolution of GCCs once perceived as cost-saving back-office operations, to how they have now evolved into strategic knowledge hubs driving innovation, digital transformation, and enterprise value. Hyderabad, with its strong talent pool, world-class infrastructure, and business-friendly ecosystem, has played a pivotal role in this shift, becoming home to over 200+ GCCs that are pushing the boundaries of technology, AI-driven solutions, and R&D-led innovations.

Access to Impact: Revolutionizing Digital Public Goods: in a rare appearance as panelist Sri Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, ITE&C Department joined his Industry colleagues in uncovering advancements in technology that are enabling better access to digital public goods, leading to positive impact in areas such as e-governance, healthcare, and education, by providing more inclusive and efficient citizen services.

The panel on Sustainable systems & Green Software delved into how eco-conscious innovation is reshaping the IT and ITeS sectors, driving both efficiency and environmental responsibility. Experts shared cutting-edge strategies to reduce energy consumption, optimize software design, and implement green data centers to lower carbon footprints. 

Impactful PowerNotes were delivered by Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint MD, Apollo Hospitals on Patient care and applications of AI, Dr. D Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, AIG Hospitals on AI Innovations in Healthcare, Vijay Raai, Chairman CII & Board member, The Commonwealth Artificial Intelligence ( AI) Consortium talked about “Global outlook on advancements in AI”, and Venkat Rangapuram, Founder CEO, Centific spoke on “AI at Scale: 

Mr. K. Subramanian, Executive Director, IMF, who addressed live from New York, delivered the closing keynote on how Technology changes are impacting economies world over. 

The summit concluded with a glittering awards ceremony in the evening, honouring outstanding IT/ITES companies and startups for their exceptional achievements in Exports, Productivity, and Product Development.

The second edition of the “HYSEA Scale@Hyderabad: Global Technology Destination” report was launched at the summit in collaboration with the Government of Telangana, KPMG AoN, and CBRE. This report highlights Hyderabad’s emergence as a premier global technology hub, offering valuable insights to guide strategic investment decisions. Building on the success of the first edition launched in 2019, which was widely utilized by industry leaders, government bodies, and the broader ecosystem, the new edition aims to provide an updated perspective on Hyderabad’s growth trajectory and its evolving role in the global technology landscape.

HYSEA 10x Product Awards were presented to top 10 startups from Telangana. After two rounds of evaluations at IIIT-H, a 50-member jury has selected 60 finalists from 250+ nominations. These finalists showcased their products at the expo at HICC. 

This year, HYSEA presented its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to two distinguished leaders for their stellar contributions to society, industry, and academia.

Dr. Gullapalli Nageswara Rao, Founder of LVPEI, was honored for his extraordinary legacy, defined by a lifelong commitment to serving humanity, harnessing technology, and advancing research and innovation for the greater good. His transformative contributions to eye care and public health have impacted millions of lives.

Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Institute Professor at IIT Madras, was recognized for his pioneering and unparalleled contributions to society bringing in  the convergence of research, industry and innovation in  academia.
