The inaugural session of the 42nd edition of the HYSEA Leadership Development Program set the stage for the four-week-long journey of learning and growth, featuring an esteemed lineup of speakers who shared invaluable wisdom on leadership.
The distinguished speakers at the inaugural included:
- Manisha Saboo, Vice President at Infosys, President at HYSEA, and Head, Infosys Foundation
- Bipin Pendyala, Senior Director and General Manager, India, Appen
- Uma Rao, CHRO, and Sekhmet Pharmaventures
- Sailaja Josyula, SVP Global Delivery Head, Center Head, Cognizant
The event commenced with an impactful address by Manisha Saboo, highlighting the importance of clear goal-setting, decisive action, and authentic leadership. She shared personal anecdotes and emphasized the significance of planning, skill development, and effective execution. Manisha also addressed pertinent topics such as work-life balance and the importance of a strong support system.
Bipin Pendyala delved into “Insights on Leadership and How to Grow as a Leader,” emphasizing adaptability, conflict management, accountability, influence, and cultural awareness as essential leadership qualities.
Uma Rao explored “Leadership Challenges Faced by Women,” addressing both external and internal factors such as gender stereotypes and the Queen Bee phenomenon. She introduced the Ardhanarishvara Leadership Model, focusing on self-awareness, balanced decision-making, relationship-centric leadership, and purpose-driven leadership.
Sailaja Josyula shared strategies for “Building Trust and Respect,” emphasizing the relationship between one’s energy and perceived trustworthiness. She highlighted the importance of confident body language, self-awareness in combating Imposter Syndrome, and aligning tasks with peak energy times for optimal performance.
With participation from 85 women leaders representing 35 member companies, the inaugural session of the 42nd edition of LDP set a promising tone for the weeks ahead, offering valuable insights for nurturing leadership skills and fostering a positive team environment.
