HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association) organized the 30th edition of its prestigious Annual Summit & Awards 2023 today, featuring – Conference, Product Expo and Annual Industry Awards. The theme for this year’s conference was ‘Re-Imagine, Re-Think and Re-Build the Future’.
Manisha Saboo, President, HYSEA welcoming the participants said, “We believe Telangana IT industry is at the tipping point. At this opportune time, we must Rethink, Reimagine, and Rebuild the future”. In the next 3 years India is expected to add 2 million IT jobs and only about 30 – 40% of this will be from traditional IT services organizations and the rest will be from GCC and startups”, she said.
This carefully curated conference is a step towards making Telangana ready to capitalize on this humongous growth potential. HYSEA also believes startup & Innovation will be drivers of future business growth. So, as we step into next year, HYSEA will be planning for interventions to make innovation and startups mainstream in Telangana, she said.
As global companies become digital-first, digital transformation is at the core of business transformation. Winning businesses are those that invest in technologies, technologists, and technology partners to accelerate their business outcomes and achieve market leadership. To be there, all businesses need to rewrite their existing rules. Global leaders are partnering with companies that can chart new waters by asking questions, driving solutions, and co-creating innovation. Therein lies the massive opportunity for all software led companies to become champions. The global technology industry has altered itself to accommodate players who can essentially engineer such outcomes. This was the message from Mr. Ashutosh Sharma, Head of Research, Forrester, who delivered the analyst keynote. He also talked about emerging technologies which will create impact including: TuringBots, Web3.0, Explainable AI, Edge Intelligence, Extended reality, NLP, Privacy preserving technologies, Cloud native computing etc. Generative AI he said isn’t ready for primetime yet! It isn’t capable of autonomously producing creativity and will always need supervision.
G. V. Prasad, co-chairman and managing director, Dr. Reddy’s delivered the Industry Keynote on “Opportunities for tech companies in Pharma and Healthcare”. He talked about how technology is reshaping doctor engagement and how AI backed tools are helping expedite drug discovery. Automation he said is helping increase productivity across the value chain & enabling new business models.
Stephen Ravindra, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad talked about how Technology which can take us forward and empower us, can also show the flip side that is Cyber Crime. Cybercrimes are a 8.3 trillion dollar economy and by 2026 will be more than 20 trillion dollar parallel dark economy. There can’t be a better use case about Cyber security than how The Dept of Police in Telangana is using it at its peak with a confluence of Digital technologies helping create a Safe and Secure Society thwarting Data theft, Social Impersonation and IP Theft, Ransomware, and Organised crime.
Ravi Kumar S, CEO, Cognizant addressing virtually talked about his association with Hyderabad, his belief about the future of technology industry where Cognitive skills, Non-Stem Skills and Tech being core to the Future. He also opined about how heuristic skills will lead the future. Finally, the dramatic growth of IT services industry further fueled by the growth of Digital and surge of #Hyderabad.
Debashis Chatterjee, CEO & Managing Director, LTIMindtree delivered the evening Industry Keynote said Industry needs adaptable & curious Individuals.
In additions to the keynotes the summit event saw three riveting panels on Redesigning the Future of Business, Redesigning the Future of Technology, and how Hyderabad could become the unicorn capital of the country.
An interesting fireside chat with film maker and screenwriter Nag Ashwin caught everyone’s imagination when he talked about his experience of dabbling in technology for film making, as Confluence of digital technologies, augmented reality, 3d, and creating sur-real experiences leveraging the advancements in Computer graphics, Animation, Metaverse etc are helping him to create world class Movies and experiences.
Dr. Santanu Paul had a insightful discussion with Praveena Rai, COO, NPCI on how NPCI plans to achieve their long-standing vision of a billion transactions a day and together they had deep insights about NPCI’s popular rocketship products such as UPI, RuPay, AEPS, FASTag and everything else in the pipeline.
Audience listened to Pawan the startup champ who made Hyderabad and India proud by launching India’s first Private Space Rocket that went zooming into the outer space. Joining him Sateesh Andra sharing rich insights from the world of Venture Capital and Ramesh Loganathan from his rich experience of both corporate and academia shared his insights into what can make Hyderabad the startup capital for deeptech.
