TCS Hyderabad (TCSH) has, over the years, become synonymous with the best in technology and pioneering innovation. In yet another year of spectacular success, TCS grew to a 45,000+ employee organization, with over 37% of its workforce constituted by women. Today, TCS Hyderabad (TCSH) serves over 450 global customers contributing to about 10% of the state’s IT exports.
With significant investments in infrastructure and the support provided to academia, TCS has enhanced business and employment opportunities in the region. The Kohli Center of Intelligent Systems was established at IIIT Hyderabad to give a fillip to research, teaching and entrepreneurship. TCSH works with over 60 Engineering colleges to improve the employability of students. 153 workshops were conducted on digital technologies and agile processes, benefitting 50,441 students from 126 institutions in the region. Three credit courses were delivered through the MHRD Online Course Delivery Network, benefiting 2,117 students from 16 colleges.
Consistent and continued focus on Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives has helped TCSH make a difference to Education, Health, Safety and Environment. TCSH was awarded the Digital Social and Economic Empowerment Awardfor the ‘Best Use of Technology to Drive CSR Initiatives’, by the Internet and Mobile Association of India, for its Computer Based Functional Literacy (CBFL) solution that aids adult literacy. TCSH also received the PMI India Project of the Year– Contribution to the Communityaward for CBFL, at the Project Management National Conference India 2018. For being the largest blood donor in the corporate category, TCSH received the Indian Red Cross Awardon International Blood Donors Day this year, from the Hon. Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Shri ESL Narasimhan.The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Government of Telangana recognized TCSH with an award for its contribution to the Tree Plantation Drive Haritha Haaram in the region.
TCS lays great emphasis on enhancing the quality of life of its diverse workforce not only through skill and leadership development programs, but also health and fitness programs, and community development programs. TCSH employees have excelled in sports and won a number of awards at the prestigious Hyderabad Corporate Olympics, Prakash Padukone Badminton Tournament, HYSEA Sports Championship and Invictus and Timeout Corporate Tournaments. Employees have contributed significantly to Road Safety Awarenessby volunteering to support the Traffic Police. TCSH employees actively participated in the Road Safety and Safe Drivingorientation program conducted by Cyberabad Police, and over 300 employees participated in the Citizen Connectprogram where safety issues and measures taken by the Police were discussed.
TCSH is charting a new course towards making a positive difference to all employees and ensuring safety of all by training all the Bus and Cab drivers in Defensive Driving,conducted by an external agency. 139 bus drivers and 728 cab drivers have been trained and certified. In order to ensure that they are also equipped to handle emergencies, 200 drivers have been trained in administering First Aid.
