The pandemic has brought unprecedented changes worldwide. But despite these difficulties, SYKES was able to power through and continuously provide support, not only for our employees and clients, but also to the community.
Some of our key achievements in the past months were increasing and almost doubling our headcount, implementing two new key accounts, and launching our newest site in Uppal, at the heart of excellence in Hyderabad. We are honored to continuously provide job opportunities despite the recent challenges and even give back to the community. We were able to donate and support the Chief Minister’s COVID-19 Relief Fund during the earlier days of the lockdown. Just this September, we were also able to contribute to the CSR funds for Road Safety led by V.C. Sajjanar, Commissioner of Cyberabad.
While excellent performance in the business is a great success, one of our highlight achievements comes back to our people and being able to ensure their safety and well-being. When the lockdown began, SYKES was one of the first companies that mobilized its workforce to a work-at-home set-up, transferring 95% of our team in a matter of days, ensuring that they are safe from the virus while also providing job security.
With the threat of COVID-19 still prevalent, we are continuing these efforts for our people, maintaining 65% of our teams working at home as of September. We have also upgraded the platform, ensuring that they have proper power backup, ergonomics, and private customized set-up to enhance their experience and service delivery.
Aside from providing support for work, we also do our best to boost their morale through engagement activities. Last August, we hosted the SYKES Spotlight Awards virtually, wherein we recognized our people’s efforts through a fun online gathering, and also gave awards to our outstanding employees.
