Dear Member,

We are very happy to bring you the 16th Workshop as part of TechSeries@HYSEA on ‘Ethical Hacking’ on Friday, 22nd Nov 2019 at Club Botanika. The workshop will be facilitated by Chief Software Testing Engineer – EPAM, Harikrishna Velugonda.

Though hacking means to play around in a creative way with any kind of technology to create something unexpected, something new!!! But today it has been reduced to breaking into other people's computer systems in order to destroy, disrupt or carry out something illegal.

The global average cost of a data breach for the 2019 in a study by Ponemon Institute study for IBM Security is $3.92 million, a 1.5 percent increase from the 2018 study. ( They studied the costs associated with breaches that occurred between July 2018 and April 2019 at 507 organizations in 16 countries and regions and across 17 industry sectors.)

Even as Government agencies and business organizations are constantly engaged in combating the growing threat to IT security, they face the challenge of updating hack-preventing tactics, installing several technologies to protect the systems before falling victim to the hacker. New worms, malware, viruses, and ransomware are multiplying every day creating a need for services to safeguard the networks of businesses, government agencies or defence.

Is ‘Ethical Hacking’ the answer? This workshop will explore how to locate weaknesses and vulnerabilities of computer and information systems by duplicating the intent and actions of malicious hackers.
