Workshop on DESIGNING THE INTERNET OF THINGS

It is predicted that by the year 2025, over 50 billion 'Things' will be over the Internet, called the Internet of Things ( IoT) that transform businesses and society for better agility, increased productivity, improved customer experience, greater comfort, reduced costs and optimal use of natural resources.

The 11th workshop as part of the TechSeries@HYSEA takes the approach of learning through basics, examples and by doing exercises and is aimed at all stakeholders in the industry, at all verticals and for all levels of practitioners. The workshop will cover the need for the things to be connected over the Internet and how the Internet is evolving to accommodate the connectivity for billions to trillions of devices and objects, and how these things seamlessly interact with people. The definition and characteristics of the Internet of Things will be discussed. A basic introduction to the access ( IEEE 802.15.4, IEEE 802.11,Bluetooth low energy, LPWAN) and networking ( IPv6, 6LoWPAN, CoAP, Security considerations) technologies for realizing the IoT networks will be given.

Target Audience What the attendee
would learn?
The Workshop Outline
Business Heads: Should be able to make decisions related to IoT business/ Project Managers: Should be able to guide the team for executing any IoT related project across any vertical/Engineers: The workshop provides clear guiding principles to innovate, design and implementation of the IoT Applications such that the engineers would know how to get more details required for implementing their projects/Non-ICT Personnel: Should be able to understand how IoT can help their verticals
  1. Feel the Internet of Things and be able to define the Internet of Things
  2. Applying IoT for real world problems
  3. Understand various access and networking technologies and
    ability to choose right
technologies and architecture for a particular IoT solution
  4. Able to innovate in
implementing the IoT solutions by applying fundamental guiding principles for designing
the things, IoT networks and applications.
