HYSEA CSR SUMMIT 2021- Volunteer To Make A Difference

HYSEA organized the 4 th CSR Summit today at HICC. The theme for this year’s summit was ‘Volunteer to make a difference’ and explored volunteering opportunities for corporate employees in three key areas of Education, Environment and Health & Well-being. While many corporate employees want to contribute to the society, they often do not know where or how to start or are concerned about balancing work, home and society. The summit helped them to understand the different avenues available to volunteer was also an excellent opportunity to interact with several participating NGOs in the EXPO.
Paul Raddon, Head of Operations, Global Service Centers, HSBC delivering the Keynote address said, “Giving back to the society is at the core of HSBC’s corporate philosophy”. He also added, “We have launched more than 70 projects benefiting over 2.94m people, and HSBC Skills for Life, a five-year INR 100 cr flagship initiative is benefitting 1.3m, youth and women through employment linked skilling and livelihood enhancement. Through our initiatives, over 21400 beneficiaries have got access to WASH facilities across 17 villages in India. Despite COVID our staff volunteers helped train
more than 3100 youths last year,” he said.
Delivering the mentor note Mr. Venkatesh Murthy, Founder & Chief Mentor, Youth for Seva, said, “I truly appreciate HYSEA's decision to take ‘Volunteering’ as the theme for this conference. Employee volunteering programs, if well designed, can be very impactful. I hope HYSEA will provide a model for collaboration and co-creation of effective volunteering programs in Telangana”.
Earlier Mr. Bharani K Aroll, President, HYSEA welcomed the participants to the summit and said,
“HYSEA has been committed to CSR for more than a decade and half now, with our focus primarily on Education and Environment. Our education initiative DDI (Disruptive Digital Intervention) has now reached more than 12000 students in 30 schools statewide. HYSEA has had tree plantation drives in HITEC City and Gachibowli regularly since 2009 and has been an active partner for Haritha Haram”.
He also said,” This year we have added one more important focus area, ‘Health and Well-being’, where our CSR Forum volunteers will focus on projects related to livelihood creation, poverty alleviation, housing, women empowerment, child development, and infrastructure creation”. HYSEA he said, in collaboration with other Industry bodies in Hyderabad channelized approx. 100 crores from the IT industry through a campaign called IT4TS towards procurement of medical infrastructure for CoVID relief activities”.
In her opening remarks Ms. Manisha Saboo, AVP and DC Head, Infosys Pocharam Campus & HYSEA CSR Forum Leader, said, “We aspire to make volunteering as a way to build cohesive society”. She invited all NGOs, Corporates and Volunteers to make use of HYSEA Volunteering platform https://volunteer.hysea.in, an end-to-end solution for volunteering.

As a finale to the event, the Chief Guest Mr. Pullela Gopichand, Chief National Coach, India Badminton Team gave away the prestigious HYSEA CSR AWARDS. Nine companies were awarded in three different categories for Innovative and Path breaking initiatives in the areas of Education, Environment and Health & Well-being.
Speaking after presenting the awards Mr. Pullela Gopichand, President, Lead India Foundation, said, Individual development is Nations Development. Lead India Foundation is engaged in transforming the youth through a values education model using Acharya Kalam & Human transformative model.
So far, reached to over 18 lakhs students across the Country. I am happy to be a part of the HYSEA CSR summit. I congratulate everyone who strive for development of needy. Our country he said has a lot of potential and volunteering is one of the best ways to harness the same.
