Ranga Pothula elected new President of HYSEA

Ranga Pothula, VP & Centre Head, Hyd, Infor India Pvt. Ltd elected new President of HYSEA for the term 2016-18.

Ranga312th May 2016: The 24th Annual General Body Meeting of HYSEA held on 12th May at AVASA hotel, unanimously elected Mr. Ranga Pothula as its next President for the term 2016-18. He takes over this responsibility from Mr. Ramesh Loganathan, VP & Managing Director of Progress Software.

Ranga Pothula carries 27 years of Industry experience, a successful business leader with 19 years association at Infor. Prior to Infor he worked with Tata consulting engineers, CPRI, and supported many electrical industries as consultant before joining Infor. As Vice President & Centre Head for Infor Hyderabad, Ranga Pothula is responsible for managing the company’s overall Hyderabad operations, which serves as a strategic Global delivery centre, to develop/support some of the key Infor strategic products and provide services to all the global customers. Infor builds beautiful business applications with last mile functionality and scientific insights for select industries delivered as a cloud service. Ranga is also now responsible for running the operations of Infor Centre of Excellence services in Manila/Philippines and China, along with the India operations. Ranga holds a Master degree in Engineering from Anna University, Guindy, Chennai. He has a strong network among the IT Industry centre heads/ CEOs/Leaders and has the ability and commitment to collaborate with the Government, investment community and the IT Industry on any progressive initiatives that would make Hyderabad the best IT destination in India.

Ranga during his tenure at Infor and as part of the Hyderabad IT Industry has significantly contributed to the IT ecosystem by creating jobs at Infor and also worked with Academic institutions to train the students, in campus and off-campus to nurture talent. As the Centre head of Infor in India, he led the overall growth of Infor both from headcount and competency standpoint, since 1995 at Hyderabad, by creating more jobs. Infor which was originally Baan Info systems has just completed two decades in Hyderabad. Infor has grown the operations from 50 engineers and today to around 1400+ engineers in Hyderabad and around 1900+ engineers all around India. Ranga has also helped in growing the eco system of partners/vendors in Hyderabad and India, to manage the customer growth in India and outside.

Ranga has been an executive council member of Cyberabad Security council for more than a year and has contributed significantly towards the overall safety and security of the IT corridor in Hyderabad. Ranga, in addition to demonstrating passion towards many CSR activities, constantly motivates his team at Infor to participate in a lot of CSR activities. Under the leadership of Ranga, Infor employees has contributed and constructed a school building at Rollakallu village, Warangal district, which now provides shelter schooling to 300 students and employment to 30 teachers. Ranga participated in many Government-Industry interactions/deliberations towards the overall growth of IT industry in Hyderabad.

After several years of association with HYSEA, he became a Managing committee member during 2012-2014 and as an Executive committee member for 2 years, from 2014-2016. He was serving as Vice president at HYSEA for last 2 years before being elected the President of HYSEA today. He led the CSR forum of HYSEA for a term and responsible for spear heading the CSR initiatives of HYSEA engaging many member companies. Some of the initiatives are the Greenathon, Educational initiatives etc. In addition to the CSR forum, he was very actively engaged in SME and Technology/Product forums of HYSEA, and took an active role in coordinating and conducting several HYSEA events – HYSEA Annual Summit & Awards showcase, HYSEA CSR events.

Ramesh Loganathan, outgoing President handing over the baton to Ranga Pothula said,” A very unique Govt-industry collaboration exists here that has always accelerated the pace of development and growth. Great infrastructure and policy environment with industry and Govt actively collaborating in grooming and growing the innovation ecosystem has been so effective that in 2 short years Hyderabad is now widely recognized as a major start-up and innovation hub in the country and I am sure that this collaboration will continue and grow from strength to strength. I wish Ranga all the best for his term at helm”.

Ranga Pothula thanking all members present, for his election as the President, HYSEA, and said, “It is an honour to be elected as President of HYSEA at this momentous occasion of its Silver Jubilee year!!! I see a great opportunity for HYSEA to play a vital role in the ‘Digital India’ and ‘Startup India’ initiatives of Government of India, and in achieving the goal set by the Government of Telangana to double IT exports within the next 5 years from current 68,000 crores. I look forward to working with the industry leaders, SME’s, Start-up members in HYSEA, and with the state government towards making Hyderabad, the technology and innovation capital, and most preferred destination for IT in India”.

The silver jubilee year will be very exciting with HYSEA planning the lecture series from the industry CEOs/Founders, the silver jubilee year SME summit, CSR summit and the annual sports & cultural events all culminating in the Silver Jubilee Grand finale on November 27th.
