HYSEA organizes its first ever Annual CSR Day
~ In-depth discussions on “CSR clause in Companies Act 2013″ ~
~ Showcasing of CSR Efforts by Award Winning IT/ITES Companies & NGOs ~
~ More than 350 delegates including eminent leaders, associates from IT and ITES Industry, NGOs, & Consulting Firms attend the event ~
Hyderabad, 29th September 2014 – Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association HYSEA (Formerly ITsAP – The IT and ITES Industry Association of AP) in association with NASSCOM Foundationorganized its 1st edition of Annual HYSEA CSR DAY at HICC today. The event broadened the understanding, of the sustainability and community development topics which are the key focus areas for HYSEA CSR Forum by connecting with experts from consulting firms and NGOs. It also showcased to a larger audience, the efforts of the industry and how associates are contributing to both these focus areas through various initiatives, ideas and innovations. The fact that IT/ITES Industry has made notable contributions in bringing about improvements in community life and has taken several steps towards environment sustainability was showcased through the conference and a mini expo.
Dignitaries present at the event included Ms. Rita Soni, CEO – NASSCOM Foundation and Dr. Gullapalli Nageshwar Rao, Founder and Chairman,LV Prasad Eye Institute. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ramesh Loganathan, President HYSEA & said, “The objective of this event was to acquaint the member companies with the regulations relating to CSR and how effectively they can invest their efforts in an inclusive and sustainable manner. We are excited to see the enthusiasm amongst the members to do something for the society.”
Earlier briefing the audience on the HYSEA CSR Forum and its activities Bharani K. Aroll, HYSEA CSR Leader and VP, Butler America, said, “HYSEA through its CSR forum has brought synergies of employees from multiple IT/ITES companies to come together and contribute to the society. The collective resources and reach of this forum is much larger than what individuals and their own companies can offer. This group has taken up eco-initiatives like tree planting, education by supporting schools, flood relief by taking up reconstruction efforts in few villages with significant financial support, health, in the form of numerous blood donation drives, cycle rides and health awareness drives, animal welfare in association with groups like the Blue-cross and many other similar charitable activities for the benefit of the society at large. HYSEA has also encouraged member companies on the green journey by institutionalizing awards for companies for their ‘Green’ initiatives. The HYSEA CSR Forum is working towards fulfilling its responsibility towards society and extending help when and where required”, he said.
The Key Note address to the conference was delivered by Mr. Michael Mullins, Consul General of the U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad and Mr. John Hogan, Senior Managing Director, Boradridge Financial Services. Mr. C.V. Anand, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad & Mr. Avinash Mohanty, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad also spoke on the occasion on corporate role for a Safer Hyderabad and Initiatives on Road safety respectively.
The daylong event brought together eminent leaders from IT and ITES Industry who are involved in CSR activities, Non-Governmental Organizations – Who work with corporate or independently to implement the CSR related projects, Consulting firms and Associates from IT & ITES Industry who are involved in CSR initiatives. Around 350 delegates participated in the event. Some selected NGOs, Award winning IT companies including TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wellsfargo, Wipro, GGK Technologies, Broadridge, & Microsemi, Non IT companies including ITC, Bayer & ICICI Foundation showcased their CSR activities at the Expo and best practices in CSR by through presentations.
The event was actively supported by TCS, INVESCO, ADP, BROADRIDGE, PROGRESS SOFTWARE, DE SHAW and NASSCOM FOUNDATION.
