It gives us great pleasure in sharing with you that HYSEA TECHNOLOGY DAY is scheduled for 9th January 2016 at CA   Technologies, Gachibowli. Each year this event focuses on emerging technology  trends that impact enterprises and hold significant potential in the near future. The event aims to help IT associates and SME member  companies in particular to anticipate the rapidly developing technologies and form strategies to create better opportunities as  technologies mature. TUTORIALS ON BIG DATA ANALYTICS 

Introduction

Indian growth story needs no introduction. With availability of highly talented IT professionals, cost arbitrage opportunities in the export market, several growth drivers and government initiatives are fueling fabulous opportunities. A revolution in the form of technology startups, fuelled by fast maturation of an eco-system is redefining India technology industry landscape, in which Big Data is a rapidly expanding field and machine learning is a significant part of it.

This Workshop is aimed at technology enthusiasts, developers, architects and hands-on engineering managers, who are interested in

·         Learning how to solution architect a Machine learning Problem
·         Understand and recognize a Machine learning problem and identify various ways of solving it
·         Discuss and enjoying group learning while sharing their own experiences
·         Solve a few Kaggle use cases as applied to simple and real world problems

Scope
  • This is a hands-on workshop upto the extent of solving simple problems in a practical way and in a limited amount of time. There will a few minutes of presentation that outlines the use case, followed by a problem statement and a solution methodology. There will be a hand-on implementation of the solution. A summary of what was learnt will be discussed at the end. It should be noted that there will be multiple ways to solve the same problem and the workshop is not exhaustive to portray all possible different solutions; resulting in different accuracy, performance and a meeting a specific business objective.
  • Each use case is expected to take between 30-45 minutes. Depending on the availability of time, 3 to 6 use cases can be discussed, demonstrated and solved.
Expectations
    • The participants are expected to be interactive. They are also expected to have basic familiarity of R statistical package. They are expected to have basic exposure to at least one scripting language, which a pre-requisite for this Workshop.
    • Since there can be multiple solutions for these problems, the participants are strongly encouraged to practice offline later and try and learn different alternatives to derive maximum benefit from this workshop.
    • The participants are expected to bring their laptop to facilitate a fully effective learning. The laptop should be Windows/Intel machine to minimize compatibility problems and save debugging time. A USB port, WiFi interface is needed on this laptop.
    • At the beginning of the workshop an environment needs to be created on the laptop. A USB pen drive will be used to create the environment on this laptop. Arrive early to complete the registration process and pre-loading the pen drive.
    • The following are the installation instructions

Installation of R and Packages for the participants :
• R available in CRAN (Comprehensive R Archive Network) mirror sites (http://cran.r-project.org/mirrors.html).
• Download the latest version of windows binary file (for e.g. R 3.2.3 version) choose 32 bit or 64 bit depending on your computer.
• Install the binary using default options in a directory path without spaces
• Install the following Packages – e1701, faraway, fpc, gdata, ggplot2, gridExtra, gtable, igraph, lattice, MASS, qdap, quantmod, reshape2, rgl, xlsx, caret, dplyr, plyr, data.table, ROCR, randomForest, nnet, knitr, bit64
• Install these packages after getting into R Gui and choosing the Packages -> CRAN mirror site , followed by Packages – Install Packages.
