‘Technology based IP Creation - Opportunities for IT Industry’

HYSEA organized its sixth annual Technology Day on 13th December 2008 at Hotel Taj Deccan. This year it touched upon Technology based IP Creation Opportunities for IT Industry. It has been HYSEA ’s endeavor to bring new technologies and trends that are creating opportunities for growth to its member companies and spreading awareness in the academia.
The meet focused on technology trends of today in the context of the IP creation opportunities that the IT industry has presently, especially for companies in the services space. The opportunities range from packaged products to IP leveraged services where technology is a major differentiator and enabler which consequently results in a higher value offering from IT industry.
Dr. Rajeev Sangal, Director IIIT attended the seminar as Chief Guest as well as the keynote speaker. He discussed the technologies for value creation thru IP and research. Industry leaders shared their views on various contemporary technologies and Architects provided perspectives in to some of the emerging frameworks.
Other speaker’s on the occasion were Jay Pullur, CEO of Pramati technologies, he talked about “Web 2.0 (widgets)-creating an extensible enterprise “. William T. Wood, Fellow at Progress Software, talked about “Open Source SOA (Fuse) for enterprise apps”. Senior architects from Google, Microsoft, Progress Software, Pramati Technologies, IDG, Satyam, Auciti, Agriya Technology, and BeeHyv discussed various trends including Web2.0 and the rapidly emerging Cloud Computing. The “HYSEA Technology Day” included two breakout sessions on Web2.0 workshop and Eclipse Demo Camp. It concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Ramesh Loganathan, MD, Progress Software. The panel, comprising of the invited speakers, discussed the trends that the industry can expect and leverage in 2009.
On this occasion Progress Software, a HYSEA member company and Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, IIIT, Hyderabad, signed a MOU, as part of which, Progress will provide funds and technology for the Innovation and Solutions being developed at the center.
The event was very widely attended. Over 300 professionals from the industry registered for the event. Progress Software, Bar camp and Eclipse Developers group actively supported the Technology day.
